Oh YES PJ Rugby won the Plate Finals!!!!! For a new school like us, such moments are of great importance to us. I just feel so proud of the team. JJC has been around for quite some time I think, and we PJ has been the new kid on the block- just 5 years. Moreover Rugby was nearly closed down- this win has really brought us to greater heights. I'm eager to see the Trophy being handed to the principal tmr. =) I was part of the crowd who cheered PJ on. It was real tense in the 1st half, JJ played better than us and we had no breakthroughs. Soon, they scored a penalty and earned 3 points. The crowd looked worried. Nevertheless we gave the team very bit of support. It pays off as they team responded by scoring a penalty too- equalising the score. However, more it yet to come. JJ attacked us bravely and finally scored a try. The scorer was able to run freely into the area. I could see the worrying faces already. Just to think we beat them comfortably 2 weeks ago it was unthinkable. The score is now 3-10. I prayed that the team would score and stage a comeback. There comes moment of the 1st half, a swift counter attack by the PJ team created havoc. We were practically laying a seige on JJ. The JJ team defended with all their hearts too. The battle was tense and was to go on for 5 mins, leaving everyone on tenderhooks. Fortunately the ref kept giving us the ball. Finally we penetrated the stubborn defence and scored a try! Rahmat converted the kick to make it level! Half time and finally a breather for us. Meanwhile the SC ppl were stepping up efforts to cheer for the team. PJ vs JJ
The 6th SC was intrumental in leading the cheers. Kudos to them! We didnt managed to see Andre and Gang lifting the trophy but nvm. We had witnessed them in action =P. I stayed on to watch the Cup Final between the Rugby Powerhouses, RJ and SA and sure it was worth it. As I witnessed a historical moment. SAJC is the epitome of a true passionate JC. Although our cheers were commendable, SAJC showed us what is real cheering about. I estimate that their contingent triple that of ours, all clad in the trademark SA blue and white uniform. In unison, they roared their team on fervently and passionately. The RJ camp was abit disappointing compared to SA's, but nonetheless they are as passionate by building 3 gigantic banners just for the game. This is definitely TRUE passion. The Pre-Match Ritual between RJ and SA. The 2 teams was evenly matched and were equally threatening. SA was to score 3 points and RJ scored 5 points back. In the 2nd half RJ scored again and increased the lead to 7 points. The SA camp seemed to be in shock. But the SA ruggers never gave up. They continue to attack RJ and finally they equalised in equally dramatic fashion. 10-10! It was getting very interesting. The stakes was high now. Perhaps it is now a trend to be comeback kings and win the game. SA perserved until the end and scored a try at the last moment! The final whistle was blowed immediately. Pandemonium in the SA crowd!!! Practically the whole SA contingent rushed to the field!! What a moment... Seriously I will NOT forget the scene... Go SAJC go! Besides having nice uniforms, they have the best rugby team too. Ohhh My God PJ is featured in today's The Newpaper as a cover story!!! I would rather not comment on it. I wonder if I will wake up in time to catch the Champions League Final... cYaX |
