Well, in a game there's always two faces to it, either someone wins while the other loses, or they draw- meaning both are winners. Today I got a taste of losing again... and very badly.

On this fine Saturday before the official JC term starts, ex-Swiss boys from 4, e1, e4 and e6 got together to play I think would be our last match for a long while to come. Reds vs Blues. I supposed football fanatics would have known of Chelsea's infamous "potato field". Yeah the field we played on was worse, its called "desert on a hill". How the hell is Singapore gonna develop young talents when well maintained fields are scarce and expensive. This field isn't even flat and there so many rocks and sandy patches occassionally lying cunningly around it. A potential "Rooney" would probably get killed before he plays for the national team. Well, if there is one.

My team, the Reds, led 3-2 after the first half. We were on the upper slope and were attacking downslope. I made a few clearances and think did reasonably ok. We conceded 2 freak goals, 1 of which came from a freekick conceded to the backpass rule. After that, disaster stuck us in the 2nd half. I started as keeper and conceded 2 goals immediately. The first one is by YueHern, who shot the ball so near to the goalpost and I deflected it in. I think I would rather concede it then risk my life diving towards the goalpost.

When I returned to defence, it was already in a mess. During an incident, the ball was just in front of the goalpost and there were a defender and striker plus the keeper. I just ran in to clear the ball but unfortunatley I slided it into the goal while avoiding collisions. After our team's morale just plummeted down and we conceding goals for fun. Not a shadow of what we performed during the 2nd half. I couldn't do much either, I'm not some super player. Torrents and torrents of attack came our way, despie attempts to stop them, the goal rush didn't stop. The funiest part is when Dan Fu conceded one when it rolled in between his legs. The final score? 18-6.

Fresh from humiliation though, I do not feel disheartened or whatevr. Well, this is called passion to soccer. Probably alien to girls. Am really tired. Gonna take some rest before my legs crumble.
