Today, we celebrate yet another milestone of nation building. Happy birthday to our beloved nation, Singapore! Being a history student, I'm fully aware of what our country had to go through to become what it is today. 40 years of stuggling, 40 years of hardship. Now we have finally achieved our target. We are one of the top cities in Asia and among the most prosperous in the region. I feel so fortunate to be part of the generation that benefits. Thank God for blessing Singapore. In this island, we are safe from any natural disaters, no Tsunamis, no Earthquakes, no Typhoon Matsa. We had even averted a disater through the arrest of JI members. To be frank with you, I just thought this is the best place to live on Earth, if you dont count the weather and examinations.

As we celebrate this wonderful occasion, let us not be complacent. We must always strive to achieve the best. What's in store for us in the future? I dont know either. However I'm certain under the great stewardship of PM Lee, we have a bright future ahead of us. I hope You and I can do things that make Singapore proud too.

My most beloved idol has to be Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew. He holds a high standing in my heart. Without him, Singapore would not have become what it is today. Today, what you see of Singapore is a result of his legacy. 40 years later, he even send his son to serve the nation. Who else would have do so much for this resourceless land? Hail MM Lee as you see him on TV today. Mr Kamal always say we are the nightmare of Malaysia, the country which was not suppose to succeed. Now, I really feel proud being a Singaporean and living here.

Back to last Saturday. The Festival Of Praise was really a experience of a lifetime for me. The feeling of being with 11,000 people, embracing God and prasining Him was undescribable. Moreover, I think it was my first time attending a rock concert. The memories kept running through my mind now. I truely look forward to FOP 2006. Well, the 6hrs of wait was certainly worth it.

Doing homework on national day sure seems to be a mundane job. I'm gonna strive for myself. Would I be on next year's speech day? Haha. Anyway, I'd successfully untied the knot in my heart. I felt of relieved now. However I think I'm gonna be tangled into another one. *Opps* :p
