finally theres a day where i can just do all the things i like and forget about all the worries tat had been circulating my mind for this past month... oh... how fast time flies. did anyone actually realised May is gone? that beautiful Month is easily consumed by our hectic exams, to our oblivion... it is without doubt not my favourite month... like what mr kamal likes to reminds us, time is flying at the fastest speed possible.. we r like running against the wind, swimming against the current... i'm so exhausted, the hols came at the right time... although we grumble at the no. of remedials we haf during the hols, the sch is still being considerate by leaving the 3rd week free for us... in a blink of an eye, i will be blogging about the end of the hols... of cuz i wunt want it to happen so soon! 1 week of hols gone.. 3 more to go... lets not fret too much about tt first... just to share with u all, i had a wonderful day yesterdae.. it was a day well spent, and one i would be deprieved of in the months to come... soccer maniac, i am... i spent my whole day with the beautiful game... in the morning i got awoken by the voice of jian de "bear" and i realised i overslept. tat darn sony ericsson had gone flat again... i hastily left the house and feeling lethargic... the bright sun shone on me and i felt angry with myself for oversleeping... the sun was blazing at the soccer court... i got a little disappointed by the no. of ppl turning up.. plus me, 8 to be exact.. just nice to play 4 v 4.. haha.. i really missed the E1 peeps, who were doing CIP... the flamboyant dribbling of sathiya, the rocket shot of Feroz, the atmosphere created by Sean etc... they r my soccer "kakis"... as the sun drained our energy rapidly, we got tired easily... during breaks, we all r in drenched shirts and "red faces"... the mama shop nearby sure makes alot of money selling chilling drinks to us... i sure loved my new boots.. i got score a few goals :)... not to mention i missed a couple too! im not exactly a skillful neither am i a flamboyant one... maybe im more like a down-to-earth type... ask the other guys and they will tell u they fear my sliding tackles most... i dont really like to slide in the court bcuz it leaves with scars... which really happened yesterdae... my fav moment yest was 1 of my moves, which i faked 2 guys and ran 1-on-1 with the keeper and den send the ball into the bottom corner of the goal... its a rare moment i admit... after the exhausting soccer session... they came over to my house... we played our fav game.. football manager... it relived nostalgic memories of the times we used to play together in the past... i dunno whether we can still play together next yr... after tt, we went to the national stadium to catch the enthralling match between Singapore and M'sia... It was a decision i made yesterdae after discovering it conincided with the hols and there was nth special to do at home... I never regretted every single moment of it... I dragged along my buddies Ismail and MJ, with his bro... as we walked to the national stadium from Kallang MRT, we grumbled about how the police made us walked the long route... I got very excited, it was my first time watching a soccer match in the 33 year old National Stadium, which will be demolished next year... there were a alot of ppl walking with us to the stadium, most of them wearing red in support of the Lions... we wore red too! upon reaching the East Stand, there were alot of vendors at the bottom... selling food ranging from ice creams to curry puffs.. we were worried tt tickets might be sold out... for your information, we once missed out on the last of tickets for the tiger cup final... therefore we went to grab tickets first.. in the queue, i saw the front guy paying for his ticket.. so i reckon complimentry tickets were sold out... haha we r so darn lucky... haha... i showed the lady my student pass and wanted to pay her with a $50 note... upon seeing the note, she grumbled and offered me her own complimentry ticket... she thought Ismail was my friend and we both didnt pay for the tickets... however not so lucky for MJ and bro as they both had to pay.. we grabbed our food and went up too the seats to wait for the match... the atmosphere was great! we got a little disappointed bcuz the crowd was little compared to the 1 of the tiger cup final... haha... despite tt, we haf still have 18,000 ardent Lions fans rooting for the national team... both the teams were still training on the pitch and meanwhile im enjoying the great atmosphere... finally the match started.. the lions fans club were making alot of noise... it surely did intimidated the visiting msians... at first the match was quite boring nth much exciting... ismail and i were chatting non-stop about soccer... den the moment came, itimi dickson outran a defender and crossed a ball to the centre.. striker noh alam shah den excueted a scissors kick and send the ball in the net.. the 18,000 fans jumped cheered with a roar... i jumped up into the air and screamed out my lungs.. it was a classical goal i just witnessed... after tt the Lions put in a vintage performance and dominated the match... they proved too much for the M'sians in yellow... the 1st half was over and we went down to get some drinks... the staircase and whole area downstairs was filled with smoke... i got very disgusted bcuz i detest smokers and smoking to the core... if im the prime minister, nobody in this country can light a single cigarette... hahax.. the drinks sold there was at exorbilant prices.. smth im disgusted by too... den we went up to the top and breathed fresh air again... the night was beautiful, nice weather, no rain.. during some moments we can see lightning flashes in the sky... quite scary.. another funny is that alot of moths r flying in the skies... they r probably attracted to the heat generated by the lights... occassionally they would fly down and disturb the crowd... smth i discribed as "bombers"... i got distracted as im pretty much fearful of insects and lost focus of the match... in the 2nd match, both sides were attacking more... this match ended with a dramatic ending which makes it a intriguing match... a sporean broke thro the M'sian defence and ran into the penalty box... he did a couple of step-overs and i think he nearly fell or wad... Ismail was just shouting "U think u Thierry Henry or wad?"... maybe he just replying to Ismail bcuz he sent a cross to Noh Alam Shah, who volleyed the ball into the net to make it 2-0... sweet revenge of the Lions.. we walked to the busstop to take 985... it was very crowdy and alof of traffic police were on the roads... we lost mj and bro halfway but meet up with them in the end... in the bus i had a long chat with Ismail in the bus... he told me of his close encounter with the Tsunami waves while he was in maldives... i felt so lucky he was still beside me... after yesterdae, he had become 1 of my bosom friends... i went to home and grabbed smth for supper and also watched Czech Republic crushed Andorra 8-1... what a day it has been... |
